Shift Manager

£45,000 + Bonus + Private Healthcare 3-Shift Pattern Bolton

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to site expansion and the launch of a new production line at a well-established, global manufacturing operation in Bolton. We’re seeking an experienced Shift Manager to play a key role in driving operational excellence, team performance, and continuous improvement within a high-volume, regulated manufacturing environment.

The Role

Key Responsibilities – Shift Manager

  • Manage and supervise all production activities during your shift, ensuring alignment with build schedules and pre-SOP readiness
  • Lead, motivate and develop the manufacturing team; conduct performance reviews and address staffing or performance issues
  • Ensure product quality standards are met, responding quickly to defects or process issues
  • Monitor KPIs including output, yield and efficiency, reporting performance to senior management
  • Oversee equipment use, troubleshooting issues to minimise downtime and maximise productivity
  • Resolve operational issues such as bottlenecks, equipment failure or supply chain disruption
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations and internal policies
  • Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing and process optimisation initiatives
  • Mentor and develop Production Team Members (PTMs), embedding lean thinking and accountability
  • Act as a senior site contact during out-of-hours periods, supporting wider business needs

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
