Job Description
To provide an efficient support service to the General Manager. Ensuring control within the warehouse and ensuring functions are carried out in a timely manner, within budgetary parameters and accuracy of work undertaken. Ensuring effective Coordination of the mechanics of all warehouse departments with minimal risk to the business or its customers. Provide accurate KPI reports
There are x2 full time, permanent positions, working 4 on 4 off days, 07.30-19.30.
Key Duties of a Shift Manager:
- To maximise warehouse manpower efficiency, planning and monitoring of standards of depot requirements.
- To control, meet and develop agreed KPI targets though accurate data reporting internally and externally.
- To control material usage to agreed KPI and targets. Identifying cost savings and implementation of checks and reports to monitor such.
- To ensure, in good time, lines with sufficient stock from the warehouse in line with WMS and assist investigation with stock audit administrators or other staff in resolving issues that may arise from short supply of stock.
- To monitor and promote good working practices conforming to all Health and Safety law and IPS SOP’s.
- To ensure, identify and promote best working practices for continual improvement within the department and business.
- To manage through example and to be a role model to IPS colleagues and meet and exceed customer expectations.
- To plan and ensure training needs are met with the warehouse ensuring colleagues are multitasked and had adequate licences where needed. Maintaining records via the Training manager.
- Ensure all legally required documentation is up to date and available for transportation and food standard requirements.
- To ensure Data, reports and system requirements for the continued function of work are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure all equipment records are maintained, comply with Health and Safety regulations, are checked prior to use by colleagues and being used by permitted users.
- Ensure effective management of stock and pallet storage and integrity, completing weekly counts and input of customer data.
- Conduct Return to work investigation, accident, conduct or performance issues.
- Drive development of colleagues and personal development through thorough training and work based experiences.
- Monitor Performance, absence and holiday areas of colleagues
- Investigate and where necessary conduct disciplinary procedures within the IPS handbook on underperformance, absence, conduct issues and Health and Safety.
- Attend production, project and other relevant meetings as required and being responsible for warehouse operations in the absence of the Logistics Operations Manager.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment.
- Great knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
- The ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong and effective communicator at all levels
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines
- A good standard of computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office Applications i.e. Word and Excel or equivalent
