Shift Manager - Critical - Data Centre

We're recruiting for an experienced Shift Manager to join a leading provider of critical engineering services at a state-of-the-art data centre in Slough.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong engineering leader with experience in mission-critical environments to oversee the safe and efficient operation of a busy maintenance team, ensuring maximum uptime across critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of Shift Technicians, ensuring safe and effective delivery of all maintenance activities.
  • Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and emergency response.
  • Ensure compliance with site procedures, permits, SOPs, MOPs and EOPs.
  • Authorise and oversee contractor activities and high-risk works.
  • Coordinate fault finding, incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Carry out shift handovers, reporting and CAFM updates.
  • Drive health & safety compliance and ensure all work is completed to industry standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site reliability and operational performance.
  • Act as the senior engineering representative during your shift.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Shift Manager, Shift Lead, Engineering Supervisor or similar within a critical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of critical infrastructure including:
    • HV/LV Electrical Systems
    • UPS Systems
    • Standby Generators
    • Chillers & Cooling Systems
    • BMS and Mechanical Plant
  • Experience managing engineering teams in a 24/7 operation.
  • Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work.
  • HV Authorised Person qualification is advantageous but not essential.
