Production Shift Manager (Paper Converting) – 7PM-7AM Night Shift

We are seeking a Production Shift Manager with proven paper converting expertise to lead our hygiene paper production during night shifts. This key leadership role involves overseeing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while inspiring your team to deliver excellence.
The Shift Manager is responsible for directing all converting floor processes during the assigned shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), guiding production teams toward targeted KPIs while reinforcing safety standards and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operational Leadership
- Lead by example, maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
- Achieve company quality standards, ensuring customer satisfaction (both internal and external).
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) adhering to production targets.
- Collaborate with support functions to resolve issues related to planning, resource allocation, and skill utilisation while ensuring on-schedule product delivery with industry quality compliance.
- Deliver shift briefings focused on quality, cost, and delivery, gathering team input for continuous improvement.
- Conduct employee appraisals and performance management, setting clear expectations and guiding performance improvement.

Safety, Quality & Process Compliance
- Enforce safe working practices and adherence to standard operations.
- Identify and resolve non-conformance issues, implementing agreed countermeasures.
- Foster a high-performance culture, encouraging innovation and team engagement.
- Drive productivity, efficiency, and quality improvements to exceed company targets.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Promptly report machine/plant breakdowns to maintenance teams.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across the production floor.
People Management & Team Success
- Optimise manpower resources, aligning key skills with operational needs.
- Apply company absence control procedures to maximise attendance.
- Adhere to time and attendance policies, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Motivate the team through coaching and mentorship, driving performance excellence.
- Instil high expectations through personal example, ensuring team alignment with company standards.
- Act as the product expertise resource within the team, addressing operator queries.
Regulatory & Policy Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, company handbooks, quality standards, and all relevant operational policies.
What We’re Looking For
- Essential: Proven experience in the paper converting industry, with extensive technical knowledge of converting machinery & processes.
- Leadership & People Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.
- Operational Focus: Prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional decision-making and problem-resolution abilities under pressure.

- Start Time: 7:00 PM | End Time: 7:00 AM
- Weekly Hours: 44 hours
