Shift Manager - Data Centre

We're looking for an experienced Shift Manager to lead the delivery of critical facilities maintenance within a high-availability data centre environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of building services while leading a team of multi-skilled engineers across a 24/7 shift pattern.

Working for a leading facilities management provider on behalf of a confidential hyperscale client, you'll play a key role in maintaining uptime, driving operational excellence, and fostering a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of shift engineers, ensuring safe and effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Act as the senior engineering representative on shift, taking ownership of operational decision-making and incident management.
  • Ensure all critical M&E systems are operated and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Review and approve permits to work, risk assessments, and method statements in accordance with site procedures.
  • Manage planned maintenance activities, ensuring statutory and contractual compliance.
  • Respond to critical incidents, coordinating engineering response and escalation where required.
  • Produce accurate shift handovers, technical reports, and operational documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.
  • Support training, mentoring, and performance development of engineering staff.
  • Maintain excellent communication with internal stakeholders and the client team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
