The Role
We’re seeking two Shift Operations Managers to join our Blackpool bakery—one permanent, one Fixed-Term Contract (12 months). You’ll be the operational leader ensuring site productivity, people development, and customer satisfaction.

People (Safety, Wellbeing & Competence)
- Adhere to and enforce site labor standards, managing overtime align with budgets.
- Ensure staff are competently trained to run production lines efficiently and legally.
- Champion Safety, Health & Welfare by ensuring:
- Risk assessments, safety inspections, and accident investigations meet standards.
- Lead a culture of Continuous Improvement, driving high performance through team development.
Performance & Operations
- Execute daily Start-Up Checks and process Control Sheets accurately.
- Maintain Quality Records with 100% accuracy.
- Execution of Production Plans – Align the shift to meet targets.
- Monitor Efficiency, Waste & Time On Site (TOS) against KPIs.
Customer & Plant Standards
- Ensure the plant is audit-ready at all times.
- Manage and maintain plant hygiene to branded compliance levels.

Who We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in managing 2+ production lines in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Unionised environments with robust employee relations.
- Track record of improving line efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing capability.
- Ability to develop and manage people, including performance appraisal.
- Ideally worked as a custodian of major consumer brands in manufacturing.
