Overview
The Back End Operations team at Pragmatic Semiconductor is hiring! We have multiple excellent opportunities for Shift Operators to join our Assembly team and play a key role in the production processes of our innovative, cutting-edge products.
Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor and working on a continental shift pattern, you will have responsibility for covering all areas of inspection, wafer level preparation, and manual assembly operations.
We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills and an excellent attitude, as full training will be provided - as well as the desire to be part of a truly exciting journey as we scale up at our Durham manufacturing site, with genuine career progression opportunities.
Please note, we are not able to offer Visa sponsorship or relocation assistance for this role; candidates therefore need to be able to evidence proof of right to work in the UK, and be based near our Durham manufacturing site.

Key tasks
- Operation of all die prep processing tools & equipment
- Wafer inspection using a microscope
- Wafer handling
- Manual tag assembly
- Performing process checks
- Ensuring processes and products meet outlined specifications using SOPs
- Maintain activity logs/records using various systems
- Maintain a safe working environment within the lab
Qualifications and training
Full training is provided in this role, so no formal qualifications are required. Knowledge of ESD protocol and 5S techniques would be desirable, but not essential.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Competency in using MS Office
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-orientated and cross-functional environment
- Proactive approach to problem-solving

Desirable:
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing facility
- Prior experience in Semiconductor/Electronics manufacturing
- Experience of microscope usage
