Daily Tasks:

  • Lead shifts with confidence, ensuring exceptional customer service, high sales standards, and a Starbucks Experience.
  • Coach and mentor your team, nurturing skill development and creating a positive environment so everyone can thrive.
  • Drive store profitability by setting priorities, managing resources, and adapting operations in a fast-paced retail setting.
  • Promote consistency by ensuring operational policies (including cash handling, safety, and quality standards) are upheld.
  • Process and retrieve orders at Starbucks Express efficiently while managing team engagement and customer feedback.
  • Promote Starbucks as a preferred brand, building loyalty and fostering positive word-of-mouth referrals.
  • Ensure safety, hygiene, and product standards are met for all beverages and applications.

Store Dynamics:

Working in a fast-paced environment means no two days are the same—but every shift offers rewarding challenges:

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to deliver outstanding service and maximise store performance.
  • Delegate tasks and resource efficiently, creating a seamless workflow for team members.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving: Addressing in-the-moment challenges to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Training and mentoring: Sharing industry best practices and guiding new team members.
  • Efficient store operations: Overseeing opening/closing duties and maintaining operational efficiency.

Hours & Culture:

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven supervisory or team-leading experience in customer-facing roles, including coaching and problem-solving.
  • Strong operational skills in retail or hospitality—ideal candidates will have successfully managed schedules, driven sales, and improved metrics.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic store.
  • Comfort with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targeted environments, where attendees consist of diverse customer profiles ranging from frequent retailers to niche specialist clients.

Nice to Have:

  • Existing knowledge of the Starbucks system or our products will be advantageous.
  • A teachable attitude and ability to adapt quickly to new team members and regional/cultural storytelling.
