Shift Supervisor – Maternity Cover (Panattoni Park)

Location: Panattoni Park | Unit 3 & 5 Weedon Road, Upper Houghton | Harpole, Northampton | Northamptonshire, NN7 4DE


About the Role

This is a 12-month maternity cover role (with expectation of returning earlier) for a Shift Supervisor responsible for supervising operations across two logistics sites.

You’ll lead a team to achieve excellent performance, service, and operational standards in a fast-paced warehousing environment.


Job Details

  • Shift: Monday–Friday | 08:00–16:00
  • Salary:
    • £29,774.49 basic (plus 10% shift pay allowance) = £2,977.45 extra
    • Total Compensation (pre-tax): Up to GBP 32,751.94 annually

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse operations to meet productivity, quality, and service targets.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate warehouse colleagues and Team Leaders, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Maintain strong people compliance, employee accountability, and handle disciplinary issues proactively.
  • Plan and deliver daily shift briefings on business updates, priorities, safety, and performance expectations.

KPI & Process Management

  • Monitor and manage shift KPIs, taking corrective action to meet departmental objectives.
  • Ensure Health & Safety, hygiene, and company policy compliance at all times.
  • Oversee stock control, including cycle counts, inventory checks, and validation across two sites.

Problem-Solving & Discrepancy Resolution

  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damages, and inventory variances with corrective actions.
  • Coordinate labour resources to manage operational demands while maintaining efficiency.

System & Process Support

  • Ensure accurate Warehouse Management System (WMS) transactions and keep inventory records updated.
  • Monitor inbound, storage, replenishment, picking, and dispatch workflows to meet service level agreements.

Continuous Improvement & Operations

  • Conduct operational audits and warehouse inspections to ensure compliance and standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance productivity and reduce errors.
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve escalations and minimise customer service disruptions.

Deputising & Safety Compliance

  • Depuity for the Warehouse Manager when needed, providing operational leadership.
  • Maintain high housekeeping and organisation standards for a safe, efficient working environment.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in WMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in achieving operational KPIs and targets.
  • Strong numerical and verbal reasoning.
  • Team supervision and people management experience.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and commitment to health & safety.
