Job Introduction

Shift Supervisor (Tunstead Stone) – Tunstead Quarry (4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts)

Lead from the front. Drive performance. Keep operations moving safely.

Are you an experienced Supervisor or Team Leader from a quarrying, heavy industrial, manufacturing, processing, cement, mining or production environment? Do you thrive in fast-paced operational settings where safety, people leadership and delivering results matter?

We're looking for a Stone Shift Supervisor to join our team at Tunstead Quarry, taking responsibility for the safe, efficient and sustainable operation of the site during your shift.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading quarry, crushing, processing and dispatch operations
  • Driving a strong health, safety and environmental culture
  • Coordinating shift teams to achieve production and performance targets
  • Managing plant issues, breakdowns and operational challenges
  • Delivering effective shift handovers and operational reporting
  • Coaching, developing and supporting operational teams
  • Investigating incidents, near misses and operational deviations
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities

What We're Looking For

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience within quarrying, heavy industry, manufacturing or process operations
  • A visible and proactive approach to health and safety
  • Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to remain calm, resilient and adaptable under pressure
  • Experience delivering team and operational performance targets
  • Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills
  • IOSH Managing Safely (preferred)
  • SHE NVQ (preferred)
  • Quarry regulations knowledge and technical qualifications or experience with mobile plant and processing equipment (advantageous)
