Job Introduction
Shift Supervisor (Tunstead Stone) – Tunstead Quarry (4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts)
Lead from the front. Drive performance. Keep operations moving safely.
Are you an experienced Supervisor or Team Leader from a quarrying, heavy industrial, manufacturing, processing, cement, mining or production environment? Do you thrive in fast-paced operational settings where safety, people leadership and delivering results matter?
We're looking for a Stone Shift Supervisor to join our team at Tunstead Quarry, taking responsibility for the safe, efficient and sustainable operation of the site during your shift.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading quarry, crushing, processing and dispatch operations
- Driving a strong health, safety and environmental culture
- Coordinating shift teams to achieve production and performance targets
- Managing plant issues, breakdowns and operational challenges
- Delivering effective shift handovers and operational reporting
- Coaching, developing and supporting operational teams
- Investigating incidents, near misses and operational deviations
- Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience (preferred but not essential)
- Experience within quarrying, heavy industry, manufacturing or process operations
- A visible and proactive approach to health and safety
- Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- The ability to remain calm, resilient and adaptable under pressure
- Experience delivering team and operational performance targets
- Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills
- IOSH Managing Safely (preferred)
- SHE NVQ (preferred)
- Quarry regulations knowledge and technical qualifications or experience with mobile plant and processing equipment (advantageous)
