Shipping & Dispatch Operative (Shopfloor-Based)

Quickparts is hiring a Shipping & Dispatch Operative to carry out day-to-day shipping and receiving tasks on the shopfloor. This is a hands-on operational role, focused on packing, checking, labelling, and dispatching goods accurately and safely to meet production and customer requirements. You will work closely with the production and warehouse teams to ensure parts leave the site on time, correctly packed, and fully traceable.

Shipping accuracy and timeliness are essential to keeping production flowing and customers satisfied. In this role, you will:
- Handle finished parts and prepare them for dispatch
- Ensure items are packed, labelled, and documented correctly
- Support smooth daily operation of the shopfloor and warehouse
- Help maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation
What You’ll Do
- Pack parts according to standard work instructions and customer requirements
- Carry out basic visual and dimensional checks before packing
- Label packages clearly and correctly (part numbers, quantities, destinations)
- Prepare standard shipping paperwork such as packing slips and dispatch notes
- Book shipments using basic shipping systems (e.g. UPS, FedEx, internal software)
- Load and unload deliveries using trolleys or forklifts (where trained)
- Record serial numbers, lot numbers, or batch information as required
- Maintain packaging stock levels and report shortages
- Keep the shipping and warehouse area clean, safe, and well organised
- Work closely with production operators, supervisors, and team leaders
- Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a warehouse, dispatch, or manufacturing environment
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, physical shopfloor role
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions
- Basic computer skills for shipping systems and record keeping
- Ability to lift, move, and handle packages throughout the shift
- Willingness to stand, walk, and work on the shopfloor for extended periods
- Forklift licence is desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Basic English communication skills (spoken and written)
Nice to Have (Not Essential)
- Experience packing precision or manufactured components
- Previous exposure to shipping or dispatch processes
- Familiarity with barcodes, labels, or basic traceability systems
