Job Description: Shipping Associate Based at Marken Ltd, 648 River Gardens, Feltham, TW14 0RB. Company overview Marken, UPS Healthcare Precision Logistics (formerly Marken, MNX & Polar Speed), the clinical and advanced therapy subsidiary of UPS Healthcare, unites expertise across healthcare and complex secure logistics to drive the success of our clients through innovation. Job Purpose: This role supports Marken UK import & Export shipments. The Shipping Associate is responsible for overseeing the successful, timely and compliant importation and Exportation of the shipments Marken transports into and out of the UK ensuring compliance with client requirements and Marken Quality Standards. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Review all documentation provided by clients and any other Department or Branch office. Confirm that the shipment is OK to Send to destination and obtain MAWB consignment instructions. Define the best possible route to dispatch the shipment to its destination. Obtain a booking with the airline and consign the MAWB as instructed. Enter the RL for International Flight. Send the Alert through Maestro. Coordinate with Dispatch the drop off to the Airline as per the respective COT. Use the Marken-Export Daily Schedule Report and update Maestro with all the departures from designated airports. Review import documents for accuracy and completeness. Work with Customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of import shipments. Ensure regulatory requirements are met, and proper documentation, including transit documents and customs clearances, exists for shipments. Have a strong knowledge of UK import entry process, rules, and compliance. Communicate with clients about import and Customs related issues. Troubleshoot import related Customs and other government agency delays. Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier, forwarders, customers, and agents in a timely manner. Prepare all necessary data entry and confirmation of key milestones (departure, arrival, customs clearance, etc.) Maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations. Develop and maintain successful relationships with local vendors (e.g. airline representatives, freight forwarders, custom brokers) Communicate with customer, supply chain and the management team to ensure necessary requirements are met. Stay current of U.K. Customs regulations (Customs Brokers and the Customs clearance process); and classification and validation rules through self-study, approved related courses and seminars, and regular review of trade publications. Collaborate with various on cross department activities promoting process optimization. Interfaces and assists other departments with process/compliance questions that may arise regarding import shipments. Responsible for labelling In-bound shipments before tendering for final destination, either domestic or international shipping. Ensure that all route legs are complete with all needed operational details and costs estimates entered in Maestro. Liaising with customs brokers to pre alert imports and follow up on clearance status. Requirements: High School completion or equivalent. Air freight/Freight forwarding experience. Minimum 3-5 years related industry experience. Ability to read and write in English. Experience with imports and Export Customs entry procedures for air transportation. Strong analytical skills; proficient in spreadsheet development Familiar HTS classifications for import and export shipments on all products Ability to use own initiative to research and grow professionally, gain extra industry knowledge. Strong business acumen, analytical skills, good judgment, and the proven ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written forms at all organizational levels. Excellent problem-solving skills and capacity to prioritise. Able to work independently and in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook.
