As our Shop Assistant, you'll play an important role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while helping our Leura Op Shop continue to be a vibrant community hub. You'll work alongside a dedicated team of staff and volunteers to create an inviting retail environment where customers can discover quality pre-loved treasures and know their purchases are making a genuine difference.

Your opportunity

As our Shop Assistant, you'll help create an enjoyable and memorable shopping experience by delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining attractive store presentation and supporting our incredible volunteer team.

You'll contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the shop while ensuring a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for customers, volunteers and the wider Blue Mountains community.

With Integrity And Enthusiasm, You Will

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming experience for every customer.
  • Support, encourage and provide day-to-day guidance to volunteers while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Assist with merchandising, stock presentation and maintaining an attractive, well-organised retail environment.
  • Process sales, complete shop administration and ensure cash handling procedures are followed accurately.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised workplace while actively promoting Anglicare's mission, vision and values.

What You'll Bring

You are a friendly, energetic and customer-focused retail professional who enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life. You have a positive attitude, enjoy working collaboratively and are passionate about supporting your local community.

Whether you're helping a customer find the perfect item, merchandising new stock or supporting volunteers, you'll take pride in creating a welcoming shopping experience where . Compassion and Excellence.

You Will Also Need

  • Previous retail or customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping people and serving your community.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers, volunteers and colleagues.
  • Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

Ideally, You Will Also Have

  • Experience in visual merchandising or retail presentation.
  • Experience supporting or supervising volunteers.
  • Cash handling and point-of-sale experience.
  • A passion for sustainable retail, recycled fashion and giving pre-loved items a new purpose.
  • Flexibility to assist with additional duties as required.
