About the Role
Our charity shops contribute significantly to funding the care and support we provide for local children and families. As Shop Manager at our Basingstoke store, you will lead daily operations, enhance shop revenue, and boost our local presence while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere—trusted for its value-driven bargains.
A key priority is to increase income to further our mission. Your responsibilities include customer engagement, merchandising, pricing, stock management, banking, and staff planning. We expect our Shop Managers to reflect our brand—going that extra mile for a great customer experience and keeping shoppers coming back for hidden gems.
This role is ideal for someone with strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature.

- Provide day-to-day leadership, training, and coaching for staff and volunteers, ensuring tasks are fairly allocated based on experience.
- Develop and maintain a weekly work rota, covering all opening hours and arranging shifts for holidays/sickness.
- Source, analyse, and price donated stock effectively to maximise sales potential.
- Ensure financial controls are upheld, including:
- Till reconciliation at close of shift.
- Daily banking of changeovers and transactions.
- Weekly sales reporting to the Finance Manager.
- Comply with Health & Safety legislation to maintain a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Represent the charity positively in the community, enhancing public visibility.

Hours & Requirements
- Full-time, 35 hours per week (five days over seven).
- Regular weekend working included.
- мь eligible to work in the UK.
- Commitment to safeguarding best practice—applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide references covering the last five years.
