Have you got the Shopify edge? We’re looking for a truly outstanding Shopify Plus developer to take a leading role in growing our global network of Medik8 stores. You will also have the opportunity to build lots of custom code to create awesome interactive UX journeys.

It goes without saying that this role requires a very strong level of JavaScript, Liquid and CSS experience. But we are also looking for a developer with a keen eye for design who is passionate about delighting users with every click saved, and every pixel perfected.

As a Shopify Plus Developer expert, you will work closely with the Global Digital Director and the wider development team. You will use your distinct perspectives, development experience, and an in-depth understanding of everything necessary to specialise in Shopify Projects to create an engaging and knowledgeable online shop that will truly elevate Medik8 and lead to enhanced client engagement and conversion.

Salary up to £60,000

Medik8 is one of the world’s fastest-growing skincare brands, focused on science-based skin ageing products. We have experienced enormous growth in both the digital and retail spaces in recent years. Following a recent investment round, the brand is looking to build a powerhouse development team to drive online growth and streamline operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer new compelling features through the installation and configuration of Shopify extensions and the customisation of applications
  • Work with the UX and UI Design Teams to create unique, strong, and inventive front-end user experiences
  • Responsible for optimising site performance, UX and driving greater conversions
  • Own ongoing sites maintenance, expansion and scaling
  • Cooperate with in-house design & marketing teams to gather and refine specifications and requirements for development
  • Ensure a smooth connection with Marketing Tools, Platform APIs, and Shopify Apps to optimise the shop for overall efficiency and functionality
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies/industry trends to enhance operations and activities
  • Has ownership over projects while also ensuring collaboration with every team to meet deadlines

The Successful Candidate Will..

  • Strong HTML / CSS / JavaScript, with emphasis on modern JavaScript (especially web components).
  • In-depth Shopify theme development exp, including Liquid and Online Store 2.0 (JSON templates, sections, metafields/metaobjects).
  • Ability to work in and improve an existing codebase: refactoring, bug fixing, and incremental improvements.
  • Git-based workflows (branches, pull requests, collaborative development).
  • Comfortable working with APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Experience working in a structured delivery environment where changes are reviewed, tested, and QA’d prior to release.

Nice to Haves

  • Shopify app development experience, including app integration, support, and smaller-scale custom solutions.
  • GraphQL familiarity, for Shopify, would be Admin / Storefront APIs
  • Experience with Checkout UI extensions and Shopify Functions.
