Senior Shopify Engineer (Contract)

4–5 Month Contract / Outside IR35
Remote-first | London office once every two weeks
Start ASAP

About the Opportunity

Shopify Developer required:
We're supporting a fast-growing direct-to-consumer (D2C) business in the search for a Senior Shopify Engineer to join their engineering team on an initial 4–5 month contract.

Having recently completed a full migration from a proprietary e-commerce platform to Shopify Plus, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth and platform evolution. This role will play a key part in stabilising the platform post-migration while helping shape the next generation of their Shopify experience.

This isn't a traditional delivery role where you'll simply work through tickets. You'll be the Shopify expert within a small engineering team, working closely with engineering, product, marketing and content stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve problems proactively and influence the future direction of the platform.

The Role

You'll take ownership of the Shopify platform during a critical period following a major migration, helping to enhance and evolve the customer experience while supporting wider business growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
