Position: Shopify & SQL Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $60/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 5–10 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Review merchant conversations where Shopify’s Sidekick answered an analytics or segmentation question incorrectly.
- Identify the failing query or filter and determine the correct version.
- Categorize errors against a detailed rubric, such as wrong metric/dimension/filter or unsupported report.
- Write concise, objective explanations of what went wrong.
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Qualifications
Must-Have
- Strong general SQL skills. Comfortably read, write, and critique queries: WHERE vs HAVING, GROUP BY, ORDER BY / LIMIT, joins, and aggregation.
Preferred
- Hands-on Shopify merchant experience. You've run or operated a Shopify store and know how merchants use analytics and segmentation.
- First-hand experience using Sidekick. You've used Shopify's Sidekick AI assistant yourself.
- Familiarity with Shopify analytics / ShopifyQL and the Shopify data model. Understand schemas, metric nuances, and the segmentation model.
- General e-commerce / analytics ops experience.
