THE COMPANY

Ecom Landers is a Shopify CRO and conversion-design agency. We build high-converting product pages, landing pages and funnels for ecommerce brands — 500+ brands and 5,000+ pages to date, across supplements, beauty, food and drink, apparel and home.

Why this role is worth it:

  • Real ownership of the development function from day one
  • A team to lead and shape, not just a backlog to clear
  • A mature codebase and design system with a structured handover — not a cold start

THE ROLE

This is an oversight role, not a hands-on build role. You'll lead the developers rather than write most of the code yourself — but you're deep enough, and willing, to roll your sleeves up on the peculiar issues when the team hits a wall.

You'll own:

  • Leading the dev team — managing and mentoring developers, owning capacity, unblocking people, keeping delivery on track across clients
  • Quality and standards — code review, the QA gate, technical decisions, keeping the codebase healthy as the team scales
  • Design fidelity — making sure builds match the Figma pixel-for-pixel; you spot where a build has drifted and get it corrected before it ships
  • Functionality and logic — making sure pages actually make sense: flows, interactions and logic are sound, not just visually right
  • Client support — supporting clients directly across a range of offerings and niches
  • The PDP design system — a Figma-to-Shopify parity system (tokens, section-based components); you own its direction and upkeep
  • Technical escalation — the person the team comes to when something's genuinely odd: tracking breakages, strange Liquid behaviour, app conflicts, performance problems
  • How the team works — improving process and output per developer, including our use of AI tooling

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

THE CANDIDATE

You're a fit if you have:

  • Team management experience — you've led and mentored developers, and you're content when the team ships, not just when you do
  • Expert command of the Shopify ecosystem — themes and Liquid (OS 2.0, sections/blocks, metafields), plus apps, integrations, the App Store, third-party tooling and APIs. If it touches Shopify, you understand it
  • Agency experience — ideally at another Shopify agency, used to multiple clients, niches and high build volume
  • Depth that predates AI — the Shopify fundamentals are yours, not the model's; you use AI to work faster, but you could do the job without it
  • A pixel-perfect eye — you can read a Figma and instantly see where a build has drifted
  • Sound product judgement — you catch when a page's flow or logic doesn't make sense, not just when it looks wrong
  • Strong JavaScript and CSS — performance-minded, can debug anything that lands on your desk
  • Comfortable client-facing across varied niches, able to hold a technical conversation
  • Git and real code-review discipline
  • A track record of CRO / landing-page / PDP work delivered to a high standard
  • Europe-based, able to work overlapping hours with a UK team
  • Native or completely fluent English, written and spoken
  • Experience in other CMS platforms desired but not a necessity
