            Is moving trailers your thing and doing safely your superpower? Do you want to play a vital role in keeping our transport operation running smoothley by moving trailers around the yard and ensuring efficient loading and unloading? 

Here at GXO we are looking for a Shunter to join us at our site in Northampton - Wickes. 

You will be part of a team that works closely together to keep operations on track and ensure deliveries are completed efficiently. 

You will be contracted to work 40 hours per week. Your working days will be Monday to Friday, covering the hours 21:00 - 05:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Safely maneuver trailers around the yards, using a Tug shunter vehicle, ensuring smooth and efficient site operations Safely move rigid vehicles and wag and drag with demount boxes, around the site Position trailers and vehicles ready for loading and unloading, always maintaining yard organisation Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks, reporting any defects, damage, or wear and tear promptly Carry out daily yard checks, recording locations and number of trailers and demount boxes available for use, and any VORs Work closely with warehouse, transport, and site teams to ensure health & safety procedures and operational requirements are consistently met

What you need to succeed at GXO

A full UK driving licence with category class 1 entitlement A valid Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC) Be in possession of a valid Digital Tachograph Card No more than 6 current penalty points Flexible and proactive approach No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years
