Here at GXO Stoke on Trent we are recruiting for a Shunter to join our team.

As a Shunter, you’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on a ‘4 on 4 off’ shift pattern, covering the hours of 16:00 to 04:00. Occasional flexibility to work day shifts (04:00 to 16:00) will be required in line with business needs.

As a Shunter, you’ll receive:
- An annual salary of £36,972.24
- An additional £1 per hour, for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Safely manoeuvre trailers and vehicles around the yard, using a shunter vehicle, ensuring smooth and efficient site operations
- Position trailers onto bays in readiness for loading and unloading, maintaining yard organisation at all times
- Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks, reporting any defects, damage, or wear and tear promptly
- Work closely with warehouse, transport, and site teams to ensure health & safety procedures and operational requirements are consistently met
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph cards
- No more than six penalty points on your licence (no TT, DD, DR, DG, BA, AC, LC or CD endorsements)
- Previous shunting experience is desirable, but full training can be provided
