SIEM Engineer

Location: Frimley (hybrid - once a week onsite)
Salary: Up to £82,000 base (depending on experience) + package

Join a growing cyber security team working on the design, deployment and enhancement of Security Operations Centre capabilities supporting complex enterprise and cloud environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a SIEM Engineer with strong Splunk and/or Microsoft Sentinel experience to play a key role in delivering advanced cyber defence solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, deploy and configure SIEM platforms including Splunk Enterprise, Splunk ES, Splunk SOAR and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Lead SIEM onboarding activities, including log source integration and data ingestion.
  • Develop detection use cases, correlation rules, automation playbooks and security content.
  • Integrate SIEM technologies with threat intelligence, vulnerability management, asset management and identity solutions.
  • Support deployments across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments.
  • Optimise SIEM performance through infrastructure sizing and configuration tuning.
  • Produce technical documentation including design, deployment and administration guides.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to improve SOC maturity and cyber monitoring capabilities.
  • Provide technical expertise across security tooling such as Microsoft XDR, Nessus, Cribl and Jira.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years' commercial experience designing, deploying and supporting SIEM/SOAR solutions, particularly Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Strong understanding of security operations, threat detection and incident response.
  • Experience onboarding log sources and developing detection content and playbooks.
  • Knowledge of Azure and AWS security capabilities and cloud-based security monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security architecture and TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with threat intelligence, threat actors and TTPs.
  • Experience working within enterprise-scale IT environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
