Signalling Support Technician - Start Your Engineering Career in Rail!
Location: Gillingham IECC
Salary: IMC19 - £48420 (Starting dependent on competencies held) or Standard Maintenance £56,777
Shift Patterns: Days, Nights, Weekends (Safety Critical)
About The Role
Are you looking to build a career in engineering and play a part in keeping Britain's railway running safely and efficiently? We're looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and safety-focused individuals to join our Signalling team as a Signalling Support Technician.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop technical skills, and work alongside experienced engineers supporting the signalling systems that keep trains moving every day.

As a Signalling Support Technician, you'll provide valuable technical support to engineering teams, helping to inspect, test, investigate, and maintain signalling assets. What You'll Do
- Work safely and in accordance with approved safe systems of work, method statements, plans, and instructions.
- Provide technical support to engineers and technicians across signalling activities.
- Assist with technical inspections, testing, investigations, and the analysis of engineering data.
- Support the preparation of method statements and work plans where required.
- Accurately maintain records, databases, systems, and technical documentation.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
- Contribute to your own professional development while supporting the growth of colleagues and the wider team.

Who We're Looking For
- Someone who works well as part of a team and is willing to learn from others.
- A clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- A safety-conscious individual committed to following procedures and standards.
- Someone who holds, or is willing to achieve and maintain, the competencies required for the role.
- Ideally qualified to NVQ Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent) in an engineering or leadership-related discipline, or currently working towards one.
- Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business needs.
- Motivated to develop technical knowledge and build a long-term career within the railway industry.

All prospective candidates will be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test. Your application will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on the Sentinel database and a 5-year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification, or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.
