Site Manager

Location: Winslow Salary: £31,537 - £33,699 a year Sector: Construction / Facilities Type: Full-time Closing Date: 3 July 2026

Join our team as Site Manager, overseeing all aspects of maintenance, security and health & safety across our school site.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation, security and maintenance of the school site
  • Act as the main key holder, including responding to emergency call-outs when required
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and general DIY tasks
  • Complete routine health and safety checks and maintain accurate compliance records
  • Monitor and maintain site systems, including heating, lighting, alarms, and CCTV
  • Oversee contractors, obtain quotations, and ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Supervise the cleaning and site team and maintain high standards across the premises
  • Manage deliveries, stock, waste, and general site logistics
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors
  • Support the wider school community with events, lettings, and operational requirements

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience in premises, facilities, or site management
  • Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices
  • Ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
  • Experience supervising contractors and/or staff
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Component IT skills, including email and record keeping
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise a varied workload
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Full UK driving license
  • Ability to carry out manual handling tasks and work at height safely

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
  • IOSH or another recognised health and safety qualification
  • Experience managing planned preventative maintenance programmes
  • Experience overseeing cleaning teams or facilities staff
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance, including fire safety and water hygiene
  • Experience managing contractors and procurement processes
  • Basic knowledge of building management systems and security systems
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills
