We are looking for an experienced SISS Systems Engineer to join our expanding Rail Systems Engineering team. Reporting to the Lead System Engineer the SISS System Engineer will be responsible for delivering project upgrade works mainly across Transport for London and Network Rail SISS infrastructure.

This is a hybrid role based, while the expectation is to attend the Canning Town office (E16 4TL) at least one day per week, some weeks may be fully remote, while others may require more frequent office or site based attendance (days/nights). As such, flexibility is essential.

What you’ll do:

  • Acting as the systems engineer for customer’s project, you will be responsible for undertaking all technical aspects of projects
  • System design, integration and testing for the following technologies; CCTV, PHP, CIS, Data Networks, PA, Voice Alarms, OPO/TtT, SIP and Induction Loops
  • Responsible for delivering project upgrade works mainly across Transport for London and Network Rail infrastructure.
  • Involved with managing the production of design packages for minor works and major works for new and existing system upgrades, ensuring all works are carried out to the correct standard, working with the project management teams to scope out new works.
  • Communicate effectively and positively with customers and colleagues in a challenging environment.
  • You’ll be working in a part of Telent that is dedicated to maintaining the UK wide rail network

Who you are:

As the successful candidate you will ideally come from a rail background in an engineering level position. Have extensive knowledge across one or more communications systems will be essential to be able to hit the ground running; CCTV, PHP (Passenger Help Points), Data Networks, PA, CIS, Voice Alarms, OPO/TtT, SIP and Induction Loops

Key Requirements:

  • Strong experience in System design, integration and testing for the following technologies; CCTV, PHP (Passenger Help Points), Data Networks, PA, CIS, Voice Alarms, OPO/TtT, SIP and Induction Loops
  • The ability to understand and carry out system upgrade works on all Station communications systems.
  • Proven experience within a Rail infrastructure environment or similar communication systems background
  • Flexibility is key as there will be a requirement on occasions to attend sites as needed (day/night)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
