About the Role
Location: Ridgeway Hospital, Swindon
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Permanent position
Salary: Up to £46,200.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training, and qualifications)
The Ridgeway Hospital in Swindon is part of Circle Health Group, Britain’s leading provider of independent healthcare, operating a nationwide network of hospitals, and clinics.
We are seeking an experienced Sister - Charge Nurse to join their nursing team. This is a full-time role requiring flexibility in shift patterns.
Responsibilities
The role involves the following key duties:
- Provide hands-on clinical care, acting as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients
- Coordinate daily clinical activity, ensuring:
- Safe staffing levels are maintained
- Appropriate skill mix is utilized
- Continuity of patient care is prioritized
- Allocate and supervise staff during shifts to ensure:
- Responsibilities are clearly defined
- Patient needs are consistently met
- Support the development, appraisal, and competency assessment of:
- Junior nurses
- Health Care Assistants (HCAs)
- Nursing students
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in adherence with:
- NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council) standards
- Organisational protocols
- Promote compliance with:
- Infection prevention measures
- Medication safety protocols
- Safeguarding procedures
- Other clinical governance priorities

Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration
- Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant specialty
- Experience in leading and supervising a team within a clinical environment
- Strong skills in:
- Clinical decision-making
- Communication
- Coordination
- A commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development
