About the Role
The practitioner should be an expert in the assessment, planning, and implementation of all areas of nursing care from a patient’s admission through to discharge, supporting the ongoing development of clinical practice. They will manage ward or unit staff, including undertaking appraisals, rota planning, recruitment and selection, and the supervision of learners. They will support and lead a team of nurses in delivering high-standard, evidence-based, patient-centred care.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all care is delivered in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, maintaining all associated records.
- Monitor and improve standards of care through clinical audit, research, supervision of practice, and teaching, ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources.
- Promote best practice in health, safety, and security, support equality and diversity, and contribute to service development and quality improvement.
- Guide staff in developing their knowledge and practice, while coordinating, allocating, and monitoring daily work.
- Help ensure the efficient use of physical and financial resources.

Requirements
- Communicate effectively, even when dealing with complex or sensitive situations.
- Assess and manage patients with changing and complex needs, planning, delivering, and evaluating programmes of care across a varied caseload.
