About the Role

We are seeking a Band 6 Registered Nurse to join our enthusiastic, friendly, and well-supported team. This is a permanent, full-time position that includes weekend shifts.

About the Surgical Ambulatory Care Receiving Unit (SACRU)

The SACRU is an ACP-led same-day emergency care assessment unit at Wythenshawe Hospital. It was created to provide a more enhanced patient-focused service and reduce the number of GP referrals coming into ED. It helps to facilitate accelerated ward discharges and reduce the number of unnecessary general surgical admissions. This is a crucial role which will involve working alongside our ACPs, helping to maintain clinical efficiency, patient safety, and ensuring a supportive environment for both staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, evaluate, and deliver all relevant aspects of patient care in a caring, compassionate, and sensitive manner.
  • Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process.
  • Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students.
  • Take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality.
  • Coordinate the unit and be responsible for the patient flow within the unit.
  • Undertake management tasks and assist the unit band 7 with management of nursing staff on SACRU.
  • Liaise closely with the ACPs, bed managers, and other departments, so communication skills are essential.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
