Site Accountant - Finance Team (Shepshed Site) – Parker Meggitt

Position Summary
An opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team as a Site Accountant at the Shepshed site. We seek a motivated individual with:
- Dual expertise in finance and analysis
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial forecast modelling
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyse Business Unit financial statements, prepare reports, and advise management.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP / IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.

Forecasting & Planning:
- Generate and analyse trends in sales, costs, and performance metrics.
- Assist in Rolling Forecasts, annual planning, weekly flash reporting, and P&L variance analysis.

Ledger & Close Process:
- Support the monthly closer, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reviews of GL accounts for accuracy.
- Align end-of-month activities with Division, Group, and Corporate deadlines.

Financial Compliance & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with the Financial Controller to enhance internal controls and compliance with Parker policies and SOX.
- Drive adherence to financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Miscellaneous Support:
- Contribute to WIN scorecard management reports and ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Part-qualified Accountant (preparing to complete ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
- 3+ years of relevant accounting or financial analysis experience.
- Strong grasp of: US GAAP / IFRS, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, depreciation, VAT, inter-company transactions.
- Proven experience in:
- Financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Preparation of management accounts, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and stakeholder communication (both verbal and written).
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, similar tools).
- Soft Skills:
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and prioritisation.
- Influential communication for diverse stakeholders.

- Formal accounting qualification (being completed).
- Prior experience in a high-tech manufacturing or aerospace industry.
