Site Agent/Senior Agent
Location: Midlands
About the Role
The Site Agent/Senior Agent manages the daily supervision of a construction site. Responsibilities include ensuring site preparation before project launch and overseeing safe and efficient operations throughout the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

Programming & Targets
- Works closely with team members to compile and maintain initial project programmes
- Ensures full awareness of weekly targets

Site Coordination
- Plans and oversees full site setup, ensuring facilities are ready for project launch
- Coordinate utilities, deep drainage, and highway infrastructure projects (up to £60m)

Contractor Relationships
- Manages relationships with sub-contractors while working onsite
- Deals with conflicting priorities among stakeholders and subcontractors, substituting professionalism

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Management (HSEQS)
- Takes ownership of ensuring HSEQS protocols are adhered to
- Maintains quality control procedures
- Ensures Temporary Works Risk Register (TWR) is maintained and up to date

Operational Oversight
- Monitors onsite energy and waste data
- Ensures an efficient registration system for monitoring individuals entering/leaving
- Flags potential project issues (e.g delays, materials, schedules, H&S matters) to Contract & Commercial Teams

Site Execution
- Drives project delivery, plans daily/schedule tasks
- Coordinates and prioritises work sequences onsite

Team Management
- Manages teams of foremen and onsite staff
- Maintains good industrial relations and people management standards
Required Experience & Skills
Technical & Sector-Specific
- Highways & resurfacing projects, including National Highways
- Experience as second-in-charge on large-scale delivery projects
- Ability to manage preconstruction phases (e.g. design, procurement, permitting)
- Expertise in utility coordination, temporary works, and drainage systems
- Technical background preferred
Leadership & Management
- +10 years experience across medium-to-large scale construction projects
- Proven ability to lead teams and maximise performance while maintaining morale
- Strong stakeholder and subcontractor relations with interpersonal tact
- Willingness to travel to new sites
Health, Safety & Compliance
- IOSH or equivalent H&S training requisite
- Certification in Temporary Works & Excavation Safety
- Permitting expertise for live energy operations
- Experience with Working at Height/Excavation Work

Required Qualifications & Certifications
Mandatory:
- Technical/Trade background in construction
- IOSH or equivalent H&S training
- Permitting for live energy and working at height/scaffolding
Advantageous:
- Certifications or training in:
- Temporary Works & Excavation Safety
- Structural/Lifting Operations (Cranage & Rigging)
- Environment management (e.g. BIM, new tech adoption)
- Leadership training expansion (e.g. safety culture)
