Highway Maintenance Team Leader

Where You Will Work
You’ll join our Highways Maintenance Team as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, where teams use innovative solutions to provide:
- Planned and reactive maintenance
- Highway improvement schemes
What You'll Be Doing
- Represent M Group Ltd and clients professionally, ensuring a client-centric, low-complaint approach
- Lead site teams, including supervision of operatives and subcontractors, to deliver projects successfully
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) compliance, closing all actions within deadlines
- Monitor site progress against targets, reporting delays or performance issues
- Maximise site time for planning and supervision of works
- Maintain detailed records via daily site photographs, diaries, and as-built drawings
- Conduct daily site briefings and subcontractor task briefings
- Oversee quality to meet Works Specifications and maintain a safety-focused environment
- Attend client meetings to provide delivery updates and manage adverse issues
- Liaise with commercial, design, and team leads to manage project changes, using early warnings and formal instructions

What You'll Bring
Essential
- Proven track record delivering highway construction schemes (or equivalents)
- Knowledge of specification for highway works
- Ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors
- Experience with NEC 4 contracts (Options A & C)
- Relevant qualification in:
- Civil Engineering (HNC/HND/degree), OR
- Foundation degree/HNC/HND with post-qualification industry experience
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
Desirable
- Leadership qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, SSSTS)
- CSCS card
