About the Role
We are recruiting for a Site Agent to join us at Octavius, a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage construction sites to meet project delivery requirements while upholding the highest standards in:
- Health, safety, and quality
- Environmental impact reduction
- Cost control
- Deliver multiple, on-going projects on time, managing changes within contractual requirements
- Collaborate closely with our Octavius team and clients to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality project execution
- Lead by example, fostering a collaborative culture that prioritises safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Create an energetic, dynamic, and sustainable project environment by:
- Adopting innovative methods
- Optimising efficiencies
- Ensuring a safe working environment

Requirements
Knowledge & Experience
- Evidenced experience managing highway construction or improvements
- Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills, with the ability to:
- Prioritise tasks
- Manage multiple responsibilities concurrently
- Maintain minimum standards of quality
- Working knowledge of:
- NEC contract conditions
- CDM regulations
- Design management
- Programme and risk management
- Cost control (forecasting, actual cost tracking, value reporting)
- Good understanding of:
- Civil engineering specifications
- Testing regimes
- Programme management expertise and application of contractual conditions (NEC, ICE, etc.)
- Full driving licence

Qualifications
- Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience/qualification
- NVQ Level 6 or above in a related construction discipline
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualified
- CPCS (Constructing Collectively Programme) Appointed Person card (desirable)
Leadership
- Ability to lead a team of up to 10 direct reports, supporting their overall career development
- Temporary Works Co-ordinator experience (desirable)
Soft Skills
- Strong IT proficiency, including:
- MS Project
- Advanced Excel
