At Octavius, we're delivering a major highways infrastructure programme on the M53, replacing several key bridges on behalf of National Highways. As Principal Contractor, we're helping to modernise vital transport links while keeping one of the region's busiest road networks moving.

We're looking for a Site Agent / Assistant Project Manager to join our delivery team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this high-priority scheme. Working alongside experienced project leaders, you'll help coordinate the planning, delivery and performance of a complex infrastructure project, gaining exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious construction professional looking to develop their project management career on a landmark project that will leave a lasting legacy for the region.

You'll Play a Key Role In

  • Supporting the safe and effective delivery of projects and work packages.
  • Monitoring project performance, programme milestones and key risks.
  • Assisting with project reporting, forecasting and commercial processes.
  • Driving high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Building strong relationships that reflect the Octavius values of Caring, Integrity, Quality, Openness and Progressive thinking.

About You... (what You Are Skilled At)

  • You're an organised and proactive construction professional who enjoys bringing people together to deliver successful projects.
  • You're comfortable working with site teams, customers and stakeholders, and can balance competing priorities whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • You'll be a strong communicator, take ownership of your work and share our commitment to safety, quality, collaboration and continuous improvement.

You'll Bring... (your Wealth Of Experience & Qualifications)

  • Experience working within civil engineering, highways, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders and project teams.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements within a construction environment.
  • An understanding of NEC contracts and commercial principles would be advantageous.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and project planning software.
  • Degree, HNC/HND, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
  • A desire to work towards professional membership such as APM, ICE or a related institution.
