The Opportunity
Pareto FM is looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our on-site engineering team. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimising electrical systems within a busy commercial environment.
We're seeking an electrically qualified engineer who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in delivering high standards, and can work collaboratively with colleagues while providing excellent service to the client.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive engineering team, playing a key role in ensuring building systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
The Role
As the Site-Based Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of electrical systems across the site. You’ll carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to reactive issues, support compliance activities, and help maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
You’ll work closely with the Engineering Supervisor and Fabric Technician, supporting the delivery of high-quality facilities management services while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical systems.
- Inspect, test, maintain, and repair electrical infrastructure and equipment.
- Diagnose faults and resolve electrical issues efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Maintain power distribution systems, lighting, emergency systems, and associated plant.
- Conduct routine inspections and compliance checks in line with statutory requirements.
- Ensure all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and testing.
- Complete work orders and update CAFM systems as required.
- Support electrical upgrades, installations, and improvement projects.
- Work alongside contractors and specialist suppliers where required.
- Provide technical support and guidance on electrical matters.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures and electrical regulations.
- Support the wider engineering team in delivering excellent service to the client.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- UK-recognised electrical qualifications, such as:
- City & Guilds 2365 Diploma in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and fault finding within Facilities Management or a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations, standards, and safe working practices.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

Desirable
- Experience within commercial building environments.
- Knowledge of building services systems and facilities management operations.
- Experience using CAFM systems and digital maintenance platforms.
Team & Support
You'll report directly to the Engineering Supervisor and work closely alongside the site's Fabric Technician as part of a collaborative engineering team. Engineers are supported through regular communication, operational guidance, and access to the wider Pareto FM technical and contract management teams, ensuring ongoing support and development.
About You
You’ll be a proactive and professional engineer who takes ownership of your work and maintains high standards at all times. You will be comfortable working within a client-facing environment, capable of building positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders while delivering a first-class service.
