Site Manager / Site Director

Kent | Manufacturing | Excellent Salary + Benefits

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading UK manufacturer for an experienced Site Manager / Site Director to lead a well-established manufacturing operation in Kent.

This is a pivotal leadership role where success will be driven as much by your ability to engage, inspire and develop people as your operational expertise. We're looking for an authentic leader who builds trust, communicates openly, and creates a culture where teams are empowered to perform at their best.

The Opportunity

You'll have full accountability for the site's operational performance, leading manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and support functions while driving a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible, inspiring leadership across the site, creating a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Build strong relationships at every level of the business through outstanding communication and stakeholder management.
  • Lead, coach and develop managers and teams, creating an environment where people can thrive.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies to improve productivity, efficiency, quality and cost.
  • Champion a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement, encouraging teams to identify and implement better ways of working.
  • Take full responsibility for Health & Safety, ensuring the highest standards across the site.
  • Deliver operational KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, cost and people.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership to support business growth and strategic objectives.

About You

You'll be an experienced manufacturing leader with a proven track record of leading large operational teams and delivering results through people.

You'll also bring:

  • Exceptional people leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop others.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the confidence to engage everyone from shop-floor teams to senior stakeholders.
  • A genuine passion for creating an engaged, inclusive and accountable culture.
  • Extensive experience driving Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing programmes with measurable results.
  • Strong operational and commercial awareness.
  • Experience leading change and embedding improvements that deliver sustainable business performance.
  • Previous experience as a Site Manager, Site Director, Operations Director or Manufacturing Director within a manufacturing environment.
