Site Director, Hull & Melton
# Site Director: Hull & Melton (Wound Operations) – Life. Unlimited.
At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that removes the barriers to living. This is a challenging and pivotal leadership opportunity to shape the future of a strategically significant manufacturing site.
As Site Director for Hull & Melton, you will be the accountable leader of a complex, multi-functional operation while supporting the Wound Global Operations Leadership team. You will define the site’s strategic direction, drive transformation, and ensure exceptional performance in a highly regulated and demanding environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Shape strategic direction – Align site priorities with the global supply strategy and ensure long-term success.
- Lead a senior leadership team – Foster clarity, alignment, and momentum across manufacturing, quality, regulatory, R&D, and finance.
- Champion operational excellence & innovation – Cultivate a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and project readiness to future-proof the site.
- Drive large-scale transformation – Oversee complex programmes and navigate challenging regulatory environments while balancing strategic vision and operational discipline.
- Contribute to global Wound Operations –As part of the Wound Global Operations Leadership team, bring critical insight, challenge, and leadership to shape the future beyond the site.

Success in this role demands confidence-inspiring leadership at scale, with a track record of proven results:
- Executive-level operations leadership in complex, regulated, multinational settings.
- Transformation expertise – Ability to lead modernisation, cultural change, and large-scale initiatives across multi-functional teams.
- Technical depth – Strong knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, quality systems, and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) governance, with a focus on compliance.
- Strategic influence – The ability to present with authority and shape direction at site, regional, and global levels.
