Job Title: Site EHS Advisor - Crossaig
Location: Crossaig
Contract length: 6 months rolling contract
Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently recruiting for a Site EHS Advisor - Crossaig to join a World leader offering Products, Solutions, and Services across the entire Energy value chain on behalf of a well-established manufacturing organisation to play a key role in supporting Manufacturing Operations. You will shape a competitive, sustainable supply chain, partnering globally to drive productivity, quality, and digitalization.
Role Overview:
The Health & Safety Advisor is a site-based position at the Crossaig Substation Project in Scotland, delivered through a partnership between Siemens Energy and BAM. Operating on a 10-day rotation with provided accommodation, the role offers a high level of autonomy to oversee daily operations in a high-risk construction environment. You will be responsible for ensuring strict compliance with UK safety laws (such as CDM regulations), leading accident investigations, and interfacing directly with the client to maintain a proactive safety and wellbeing culture. This position is ideal for an experienced H&S professional with a NEBOSH Construction Certificate and a CSCS card who lives within a 4 to 5-hour travel radius of the site.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring daily construction activities to ensure high-risk tasks—such as building the 275kV substation and erecting overhead power lines—are executed safely.
- Acting as the on-site expert for CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations, ensuring the project meets all statutory legal health and safety requirements.
- Leading accident and near-miss investigations to identify root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Interfacing directly with the client (SSEN) and management teams to report on safety metrics and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Driving a proactive culture focused heavily on the health, safety, and overall wellbeing of all site personnel.
- Taking complete ownership of the site's safety environment, utilizing a high level of autonomy to manage day-to-day safety challenges.

Essential Requirements:
- Experienced H&S professional with a proven track record working in a high-risk environment.
- Hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate, a Diploma, a Degree, or an equivalent qualification in H&S management.
- Valid CSCS card or a similar recognized industry equivalent.
- Direct, hands-on experience with CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations.
- Verified experience dealing with client management and interfacing with project stakeholders.
- Live within a maximum of a 4 to 5-hour travel radius from the Crossaig site.
Desirable Requirements:
- Prior health and safety experience specifically working on an electrical substation project.
- Current membership with IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
- Hands-on experience in conducting formal accident investigations.
- Possessing SSEN (Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks) specific site authorizations is considered a major bonus.
