Site Engineer
Site Engineer – ASTI Framework Project (On-Site, Aberdeenshire)
About the Role
BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join a project on the ASTI Framework, delivering essential civil engineering infrastructure for renewable energy developments across Scotland. Based in Aberdeenshire, this is a chance to build a sustainable future while working with a globally recognised construction organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of personal safety and environmental compliance
- Supervise assistant engineers
Training & Instruction
- Ensure construction drawings and specification documents are accurate and comprehensive
- Provide clear, precise setting out for works
- Facilitate communication between foremen, gangers, and site teams to ensure alignment
- Lead formal setting-out checks
Planning & Inspection
- Develop and follow inspection and test plans
- Record daily activities in an accurate site diary
- Prepare 4-weekly programmes for project timelines
- Conduct material measurements for procurement and reconciliation assessments

Logistics & Material Oversight
- Managing material deliveries (cost-coding of tickets)
- Performing material testing and sampling
- Collaborating with the measurement department
- Maintaining survey books and records
- Receipt verification for on-site materials
What We’re Looking For
Mandatory Requirements
- Degree, HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent NVQ Level 5)
- CSCS Card – Holder of Academically or Professionally Qualified Person or Supervisory/Manager category
- Hold a SSSTS (Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme)
Desirable Requirements
- Proven experience as an assistant engineer
- Progressing towards the ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers) Technician or Incorporated Engineer Qualification (preferred)
- Hands-on experience in earthworks
