Site Engineer – Residential Groundworks & Civil Engineering
Location: Peterborough
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Company
Our client is a leading residential groundworks and civil engineering contractor with an annual turnover of approximately £80 million, delivering infrastructure and groundwork packages for some of the UK's largest housebuilders across the Buckinghamshire region.
With a strong reputation for technical excellence, quality delivery, and long-standing client relationships, the business continues to grow and has secured a substantial pipeline of work across the Buckinghamshire region.
Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join their operational team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Site Engineer with experience in residential groundworks and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the engineering and technical delivery of multiple schemes, ensuring works are completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with project specifications.

Working closely with Site Managers, Contracts Managers, and the wider operational team, you will play a key role in maintaining quality standards and programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out for roads, sewers, drainage, foundations, and associated infrastructure works
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and site requirements
- Produce accurate site surveys and as-built records
- Monitor and maintain quality assurance procedures on site
- Coordinate with Site Managers and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery
- Identify and resolve technical issues as they arise
- Maintain accurate site records and engineering documentation
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and company standards
- Assist with planning and sequencing of works to meet programme requirements

Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer within residential groundworks or civil engineering
- Strong understanding of roads, drainage, foundations, and infrastructure packages
- Experience using GPS and robotic total station equipment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good understanding of QA procedures and as-built documentation
- CSCS Card required
- Relevant Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
