Walker & Sloan are working with an outstanding regional construction contractor to recruit a Site Engineer to join their growing delivery team in Cardiff.
Our client has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across South Wales and the South West, with a diverse portfolio of new build and refurbishment schemes valued up to c.£10m.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Site Engineer who is passionate about delivering quality projects and developing their career within a highly respected regional contractor.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of construction projects, providing engineering support from site set-up through to completion.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, and wider delivery team, you'll be responsible for setting out, quality assurance, technical coordination, and ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely, and in accordance with project specifications.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of refurbishment and new build projects while developing your technical expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out setting out and surveying activities across multiple projects
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Supporting site management teams with technical advice and engineering solutions
- Managing quality assurance processes, inspections, and site records
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring engineering standards are maintained
- Producing and maintaining accurate as-built information
- Assisting with programme planning and short-term site coordination
- Identifying and resolving technical issues as they arise on site
- Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer within a main contractor environment
- Experience delivering new build and/or refurbishment projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, setting out, and engineering principles
- Proficient in the use of modern surveying equipment and software
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, consultants, and subcontractors
- HNC, HND, or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Full UK driving licence
