Site Engineer x2 - HS2 Highways
Location: East Midlands
Rate: £430 per day - Umbrella
Contract: Initial 6 months, possible extension beyond Summer 2027
Hours: 45-40 hours per week
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 highways contractor seeking two experienced Site Engineers to support a major highways package on HS2 in the East Midlands.
The successful Site Engineers will primarily be responsible for setting out and supporting the delivery of highways works, with some remaining structures activity. You will also complete the associated site paperwork, quality inspections, and health and safety checks.

Key Responsibilities:
- Setting out for major highways and associated structures works
- Completing site paperwork and maintaining accurate records
- Carrying out quality checks and inspections
- Completing health and safety rounds
- Supporting the site team to facilitate the safe and efficient delivery of the works
- Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
Experience Required:
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major highways projects
- Strong setting out experience
- Experience completing quality documentation and site records
- Good understanding of site health and safety requirements
- Experience working on structures or overbridge packages would be beneficial
- Previous HS2 experience would be advantageous, although candidates from other major highways schemes will be considered

This is an initial six-month contract, with the work expected to continue into spring or summer 2027. There may also be potential for further extensions depending on future project requirements.
