Site Engineer - Civil Infrastructure Project
Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Rate: £30-£34 per hour
Duration: Initial 6-month contract (with potential for further opportunities)
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major civil infrastructure project based in Stowmarket, Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in large-scale infrastructure, utilities, or energy projects to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting site delivery through accurate setting out, engineering control, quality assurance, and coordination with site teams and stakeholders. The role will involve working across civil works including earthworks, drainage, structures, utilities and associated infrastructure.

Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar engineering role.
- Strong setting-out experience within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on roads, drainage, structures, earthworks, and utility works.
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong construction delivery knowledge.
- Competent with digital engineering tools and project management platforms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS Card.
- SMSTS qualification.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant utilities sector competencies.

Desirable Experience:
- Highways construction experience.
- Piling and foundation works experience.
- Utilities or power infrastructure experience.
- Substation construction experience.
- Experience with CAD software and GIS systems.
- Experience producing Record of Condition surveys.
- Knowledge of transmission projects and associated procedures.
- HSG47 awareness/certification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Previous experience working on National Grid or substation-related project.
