Highways Site Engineer (Nights)
Location: Manchester and surrounding areas
Contract: Initial 6-Month Contract - Likely to Extend
Rate: £400-£420 per shift CIS
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading highways contractor seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support multiple drainage schemes across the strategic road network in the Manchester and North West area. The role will involve setting out, quality assurance, and supporting the safe delivery of drainage works across several live highways projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out for highways drainage works.
- Complete quality checks and maintain accurate site records.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Support the coordination of subcontractors and site teams.
- Undertake health and safety inspections.
- Liaise with site management, designers, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and assist with resolving technical issues.

Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on highways projects.
- Previous experience delivering drainage works.
- Strong setting out experience.
- Experience completing quality documentation and site records.
- Good understanding of highways health and safety requirements.
- Relevant CSCS qualification.
- Ability to travel between projects across the Manchester and North West area.
