Site Engineer

Site / Setting Out Engineer

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Additional: Company Car or Car Allowance (GBP840 per month)
Location: Northampton and associated regional sites
Type: Full-time Permanent

Linsco are delighted to be working alongside our client, a well-established and growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor, who are looking to appoint an experienced Site / Setting Out Engineer to join their Northern Home Counties Region based out of Northampton.

Our client predominantly operates within the residential groundworks sector, delivering roads, sewers, infrastructure, bulk earthworks and housing plot groundworks for a number of major housebuilders and developers across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer looking to join a growing business, providing engineering support across multiple residential groundwork and infrastructure projects throughout the Northern Home Counties region.

The Role

  • Carry out accurate setting out for foundations, drainage, roads, structures and associated infrastructure.
  • Verify drawings, coordinates, levels and engineering information before works commence.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies within design information alongside technical and project teams.
  • Independently check all setting out before releasing works to site teams.
  • Undertake engineering validation checks throughout construction.
  • Produce and maintain accurate engineering records, survey information and as-built data.
  • Operate GPS, Total Stations and surveying equipment to a high standard.
  • Ensure all surveying equipment is maintained, calibrated and stored correctly.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to site teams, ensuring works are delivered safely and accurately.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, Foremen, Clients and Technical teams.
  • Coordinate engineering requirements across multiple projects where required.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures and support RAMS, permits and method statements where necessary.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer within residential groundworks or civil engineering.
  • Strong understanding of setting out principles and engineering control.
  • Experience using GPS, Total Stations and surveying equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to build relationships with operational teams.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND or Degree desirable).
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
