Reporting to the Site Lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering the Group HSE strategy at site level, ensuring safety is ingrained in everyday operations and decision-making. As the site’s HSE subject matter expert, you’ll guide, challenge, and support operational leaders while driving continuous improvement across health, safety, and environmental performance.
This hands-on, high-visibility role combines 50% operational engagement (working alongside colleagues and leaders on the fulfilment floor) with 50% strategic oversight, including governance, compliance, reporting, planning, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Moonpig Group Health, Safety and Environmental strategy across Tamworth’s fulfilment operation.
- Act as the site’s subject matter expert for all HSE matters.
- Foster a strong safety presence by engaging with colleagues and leaders, promoting a positive safety culture.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and behavioural safety observations.
- Identify hazards and execute corrective and preventative actions through to completion.
- Develop, review, and maintain risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Lead HSE reviews for operational changes, projects, automation, and equipment initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, UK legislation, and environmental requirements.
- Manage the site’s audit programme and support external inspections.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Analyse HSE performance data, providing insights, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Design and deliver HSE training, inductions, and awareness programmes.
- Back emergency preparedness, contractor management, and environmental compliance activities.
- Provide expert advice, coaching, and support to operational leaders on HSE matters.
- Influence decision-making to ensure safety considerations are embedded in operational and project activities.
- Champion colleague involvement in safety improvement initiatives and risk reduction activities.
- Collaborate with the Group HSE teams to align with company standards and strategic objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
