About the Role

Igne are seeking to appoint Site Labourers to become part of our drilling team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and progressive geotechnical contractor based out of one of our Scottish operations: Hamilton, Glasgow or Aberdeen. We offer above industry pay, which includes lots of opportunities for overtime and regular bonuses, along with generous subsistence and inconvenience payments when working away from home. Working with a Lead Driller you would provide support with the safe set up and operation of a variety of drilling rigs for site investigation boreholes. This is a role where full training will be provided so we are really looking for someone that has a full UK driving licence with the right attitude, comfortable working outdoors in all weathers and willing to be away from home. We will invest all the time and energy needed to provide you with the skills you need and a career path for the future.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
