Site Manager – Permanent Full-Time Role (Wingfield Academy, Rotherham)

About the Role

Employer: Equans Location: Wingfield Academy, Wingfield Rd, Rotherham S61 4AU Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week Shift Pattern: 8-hour shifts between 06:00–22:00 Salary: £30,000.00 per annum Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Equans is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead operations at a secondary school in Rotherham. This key role involves overseeing daily site operations, maintenance, security, and safeguarding, while working effectively with staff to ensure a safe and functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations, security, and maintenance of the school site
  • Leading a caretaking team and ensuring accountability for their performance
  • Enforcing Health and Safety regulations, safeguarding procedures, and compliance with company policies
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with school staff, including senior management
  • Managing varied shift schedules, requiring flexibility and adaptability
  • Ensuring all facility equipment (boilers, heating, lighting, plumbing, etc.) is operational and functioning safely
  • Traveling between sites as required
  • Holding a valid driving licence and demonstrating physical fitness to perform duties

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven experience in managing buildings and facilities, particularly in an educational or institutional setting
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Building services (boilers, heating, lighting, water systems, electrical maintenance)
    • Health & Safety regulations and compliance procedures
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with staff, customers, and leadership
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Valid driving licence
  • Physical fitness to carry out duties (lifting, cleaning, repairs, etc.)

Desirable

  • Strong IT skills for managing systems and documentation
  • Proven track record of team leadership and supervision
  • experience navigating administrative or welfare systems in schools/workplaces
