Job Description
Site Manager (No.2) - Retail Fit-Out Project
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Manager to join a project delivery team as the No.2 Site Manager on a fast-paced retail fit-out project.
Position: Site Manager
Location: Birmingham City Centre
Salary: £300.00 per day
Contract Type: Temporary - 8-10 weeks
Start date: Monday 27th July
Working under the direction of the Lead Site Manager and alongside the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the project from mobilisation through to completion. You will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role is ideally suited to an individual with a proven background in fast-track retail fit-out, refurbishment, or commercial interior projects who is confident managing multiple subcontract trades, maintaining strong client relationships, and driving programme performance in a live construction environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Site Manager in the day-to-day management and coordination of all site activities.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with the construction programme.
- Maintain exceptional standards of health, safety and environmental compliance, ensuring company procedures and statutory regulations are adhered to at all times.
- Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, daily briefings and regular safety inspections.
- Monitor workmanship and quality, ensuring installations meet project specifications and client expectations.
- Assist in managing site logistics, deliveries, material storage and labour resources.
- Identify and proactively resolve site issues to minimise delays and maintain programme.
- Liaise professionally with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors, maintaining strong working relationships throughout the project.
- Keep accurate site records including daily diaries, progress reports, permits, inspections and quality documentation.
- Assist with project handover, snagging, commissioning and practical completion.

Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a Site Manager on retail fit-out or refurbishment projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and subcontractor management.
- Valid CSCS Black Card.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Fire Marshal qualification.
- Asbestos Awareness certification.
