Site Manager - Hampshire

Site Manager - North Hampshire

  • Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Car Allowance + Package
  • Location: North Hampshire
  • Project: New Build / Extension Scheme
  • Contractor: South Coast-Based Regional Main Contractor

The Opportunity

A respected South Coast-based regional contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a newly secured project in North Hampshire.

The business delivers a mix of new build, refurbishment, and extension projects, typically ranging in value from around £1m to £8m. Their work is mainly across Hampshire, Dorset, and the wider South Coast, with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects for repeat clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager who enjoys taking ownership of a project on site, managing subcontractors closely, and working within a hands-on regional contractor environment where communication is direct, and senior management is accessible.

About the Contractor

The contractor is a well-established regional business operating across the South Coast and surrounding counties. They have built a strong reputation for delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, with a focus on maintaining long-term client relationships.

Their project experience includes:

  • Education - school extensions, upgrades, and specialist teaching facilities
  • Healthcare - healthcare refurbishments, community facilities, and live environment works
  • Commercial - office, workplace, and mixed-use schemes

Projects typically range from £1m to £8m, giving the successful Site Manager exposure to varied, manageable regional schemes with full site responsibility.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with the Project Manager, commercial team, design team, and subcontractors to ensure the scheme progresses smoothly from mobilisation through to completion and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily site operations from start through to completion
  • Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site labour
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety across the site
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with programme and quality requirements
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and commercial team
  • Manage site paperwork, inductions, RAMS, and progress reporting
  • Liaise with the client, consultants, and key stakeholders
  • Monitor progress, identify issues early, and help drive solutions
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and professional site environment
  • Oversee snagging, handover, and completion stages

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Site Manager with a strong main contractor background and experience delivering projects of a similar size and nature.

You should have:

  • Proven experience managing construction projects on site
  • Background with a main contractor
  • Experience on new build, refurbishment, extension, education, healthcare, commercial, or leisure schemes
  • Strong subcontractor coordination skills
  • Good understanding of programme, quality, and health & safety requirements
  • Ability to manage site teams and keep projects moving forward
  • Strong communication skills with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid
  • Full UK driving licence
