A leading UK main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the team delivering a landmark arena development in Cardiff Bay. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on one of the region’s most high-profile construction projects, with a particular focus on fit out and internal works packages.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and coordinating internal trades, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards within a fast-paced construction environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing fit out and internal works packages from inception through to completion
- Coordinating subcontractors and site teams to ensure programme delivery
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality across all internal works
- Monitoring progress against programme and resolving on-site issues proactively
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with specifications, drawings and project requirements
- Managing daily site operations and reporting progress to senior management
- Conducting inspections, snagging and quality assurance checks throughout the project lifecycle
- Building strong working relationships with subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders
- Supporting logistics planning and sequencing of internal trades
- Assisting with project handover and defect-free completion processes

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering fit out and internal works packages
- Background working for a main contractor on large-scale construction projects
- Strong understanding of sequencing and coordination of internal trades
- Ability to manage subcontractors and drive programme performance effectively
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
- Relevant construction qualification preferred (HNC, NVQ or equivalent)
- Strong focus on quality, safety and attention to detail
