Due to continued contract growth, Wates Property Services is seeking an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of planned maintenance and decarbonisation projects across the Herefordshire region, covering Hereford, Ledbury and surrounding areas.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team delivering energy efficiency and property improvement programmes to occupied social housing properties. We are particularly interested in candidates who have hands-on experience managing Solar PV installations, Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) projects and window and door replacement programmes within the social housing sector.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple planned works schemes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with residents, clients, subcontractors and internal teams, you will play a key role in delivering improvements that make homes warmer, more energy efficient and more sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage site operations across planned maintenance and retrofit projects.
- Lead and coordinate subcontractors, direct operatives and suppliers.
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with programme, budget and quality targets.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and compliance management.
- Carry out site inspections, quality checks and progress reviews.
- Produce site reports and update project programmes.
- Support resident engagement and ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
- Manage material deliveries and site logistics.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Teams and Resident Liaison Officers.
- Ensure works are completed to the required specification and handed over successfully.

About You
We're looking for a proactive and organised Site Manager with a strong background in social housing planned works.
Essential
- ✅ Experience managing social housing planned maintenance projects
- ✅ Experience working in occupied residential properties
- ✅ Strong understanding of site health & safety requirements
- ✅ Excellent communication and leadership skills
- ✅ SMSTS Certification
- ✅ CSCS Manager Card
- ✅ First Aid at Work
- ✅ Full UK Driving Licence
Highly Desirable
- ⭐ Experience delivering Solar PV installation programmes
- ⭐ Experience managing Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) projects
- ⭐ Experience overseeing window and door replacement schemes
- ⭐ Knowledge of retrofit and decarbonisation programmes
- ⭐ Experience working on SHDF, ECO or PAS 2035-related projects
- ⭐ Strong customer-focused approach when working in residents' homes
